The Roman Catholic Stammbergkapelle (also called Maria Pain Chapel or Kreuzweg Chapel ) is located outside the district town of Tauberbischofsheim am Stammberg.

The station path, which leads the way to the chapel, goes back from its history to the year 1772.

Way of the Cross

From the Hotel St. Michael, a way of the cross with seven stations leads up the Stammberg to the chapel of the same name. The seven pains are symbolized at the Stations of the Cross with swords piercing Mary's heart. The memory of the seven sorrows of Mary is linked to the prophecy of Simeon.
