Stanislav Konjuchow
Stanislav Konyukhov Mykolajowytsch ( Russian Станислав Николаевич Конюхов Stanislav Nikolayevich Konyukhov , Ukrainian Станіслав Миколайович Конюхов * 12. April 1937 in the village Bekrenewo, Vologda Oblast , † 3. April 2011 in Dnipropetrovsk ) was a Soviet - Ukrainian rocket engineer and university professor .
Life
Konjukhov grew up in Dnepropetrovsk and graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Technology at Dnepropetrovsk University in 1959.
After graduation, Konjuchow worked in the design office KB Yuzhnoye for rocket development . He made important contributions to the development of the RT-23 and R-36 missiles . He led the developments that led to the Dnepr , Zyklon and Zenit missiles . In 1991 he became general designer there, succeeding Vladimir Fyodorowitsch Utkins and in 1995 general director (until 2010).
In 1987 Konjuchow received his doctorate in technical sciences . From 1987–1992 he headed the system design chair at the Moscow Skills Improvement Institute of the Ministry of General Mechanical Engineering of the USSR . In 1991 he was appointed professor .
In 1992 Konjuchow became a member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and in the same year a member of the International Academy of Engineering in Moscow and in 1994 a member of the Russian Tsiolkovsky Academy of Cosmonauts . In 1995 he became head of the Chair of Missile Design at the Mykola Zhukovsky National University of Aerospace in Kharkiv . In 1996 he became a member of the Council for Science and Technology Policy of the President of Ukraine and a member of the New York Academy of Sciences . In 2000 he became a member of the Committee for the State Prize of Ukraine.
In October 2004 Konjuchow became vice president of the International Academy of Astronautics , of which he had been a member since 1997. He was non-party and in 2006 was a candidate for MP of the Party of Patriotic Forces of Ukraine.
Konyukhov died suddenly of pneumonia and was buried in the Heroes' Avenue of the Zaporozhian Cemetery in Dnepropetrovsk.
