Stansly Maponga Sr. (born March 5, 1991 in Harare ) is a Zimbabwean American football player on the position of the defensive end . He played for the Atlanta Falcons and the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL). He currently plays with the Seattle Dragons in the newly founded XFL .

Early years

Maponga went to high school in Carrollton . He later attended Texas Christian University .

NFL

Atlanta Falcons

Maponga was by the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL Draft selected in 2013 in the fifth round of the 153rd place. On September 18, 2014, in the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers , he scored his first and only sack in the NFL. On September 5, 2015, he was released before the season started . On September 7, 2015, he was accepted into the Practice Squad by the Falcons .

New York Giants

On December 12, 2015, he was signed by the New York Giants . On September 2, 2017, he was released before the season started .

Dallas Cowboys

On October 25, 2017, he was accepted into the Practice Squad of the Dallas Cowboys . He was released on November 2, 2017.

Denver Broncos

On November 21, 2017, he signed a contract with the Denver Broncos . Here he came under the Practice Squad . He was released on August 13, 2018.

XFL

Since 2020 he has been playing in the newly founded XFL for the Seattle Dragons .
