Statsforvaltningen ( German  State Administration ) was the state central administration of Denmark from July 1, 2013 to March 31, 2019, responsible for public services v. a. in the social and legal area. It was subordinate to the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Interior and employed around 480 people. The state administration carried out local supervision in accordance with the law .

Statsforvaltningen formed only the smaller part of the state administration at the national level, the main structure is formed by the ministries and their subordinate specialist authorities.

The agency was headed by a director. These included a deputy director and four department heads for finance, administration and IT, project development and human resources.

The authority replaced five regional state administrations in 2013, the area of ​​responsibility congruent with the Danish regions. These regional authorities were created in connection with the 2007 local government reform.

Statsforvaltningen was already dissolved on April 1, 2019. The newly created Familieretshuset takes on family law tasks . Local supervision is now with Ankestyrelsen . Styrelsen for International Recruiting og Integration (SIRI) is now working on matters relating to immigration law .

The director and the deputy director of the state administration also held the office of monastery mandate . Stiftamtmand and bishop form the diocese authority ( stiftsøvrighed ) . Together they supervise administrative, personnel and financial affairs of the diocese; The Stiftamtmand also advises provosts and communities on legal, financial and technical issues. However, he is not responsible for religious questions and the pastors.

The director was able to delegate his competence for individual dioceses to leading employees of the state administration (at least account manager ) and thereby confer the title of Stiftamtmand. In 2013, Vice Director Torben Sørensen (Afdeling Ringkøbing) was installed in the dioceses of Aarhus and Ripen, and Helle Haxgart in the other eight dioceses.

Branches

The nine branches in total are intended to provide services that are close to the people. At some locations only selected subject areas are processed. As a rule, citizens can decide where to make appointments if necessary.
