Lieutenancy of Vologda
The governorship Vologda ( Russian Волого́дское наме́стничество , transcribed Vologodskoje namestnitschestwo , scientific transliteration Vologodskoe namestničestvo ) was an administrative unit of the Russian Empire that existed from 1780 to 1796.

The governorship was in the northwest of the Russian Empire. In the northeast it bordered the Tobolsk governorship , in the east with the governorship of Perm , in the east with the governorship of Vyatka , in the south-east with the governance of Kostroma and the governorship of Yaroslavl , in the south-west with the governance of Novgorod and in the west with the governorship of Olonez .
history
The Vologda governorship was established on January 14th . / January 25, 1780 greg. created by the ukase of Catherine the Great , through the dissolution of the Archangelgorod governorate that existed up to that time . Administratively, the governorship was in three oblasts divided, the Arkhangelsk Oblast , the Oblast Veliky Ustyug and Vologda Oblast . On March 15th, Jul. / March 26, 1784 greg. took place, through another ukase of Catherine the Great, the secession of the Arkhangelsk Oblast as governor of Arkhangelsk .
The governorship of Vologda was established on December 1st . / December 12th 1796 greg. dissolved by a ukase from Paul the First . The Vologda Governorate was established on their territory .
