Stefan Lex (* in Essen ) is a German singer ( tenor ), conductor and entertainer .

Life

Lex studied singing with Therese Maxein at the Folkwang Music School in Essen and with Kammersänger Josef Metternich at the Cologne University of Music . Then he found a singing teacher and musical mentor in Klaus Michael Leifeld from Herne.

Stefan Lex took master classes with Sylvia Geszty , Liselotte Hammes and Karl-Josef Görgen. Chamber singer Karl Ridderbusch chose him as a partner for several concert and recital tours. Stefan Lex played with Sylvia Geszty, Günter Wewel , Siegfried Jerusalem , Gunther Emmerlich , Hermann Prey and Deborah Sasson a . a. The WDR broadcast several concerts with Stefan Lex, the ARD hired him for the programs “ No beautiful country ” and “ Heimatklänge ”.

He gave concerts in the ICC Hamburg, Konzerthaus Dortmund , Kurhaus Wiesbaden , Aalto-Theater Essen , Theater am Marientor Duisburg, Philharmonie Essen, Redoute Mainz, Rosengarten Mannheim , Sanssouci Potsdam , Grand Hotel Viktoria Interlaken and the town halls of Oberhausen , Wuppertal , Hagen and Wins. Stefan Lex sang at the Rheingau Music Festival , the Herrenberg Summer Colors and the Moselfestwochen. Stefan Lex has been giving concerts with the Ensemble Pomp-A major since 2000 . In October 2004 the gala award Artist of the Year was awarded to Stefan Lex & Pomp-A-Major.

In spring 2005 the tenor and conductor Stefan Lex founded the vocal ensemble Stefan Lex with the name DER CHOR! . 41 selected voices from 15 cities in North Rhine-Westphalia come together to form a choir ensemble. The color spectrum of the choir includes popular opera choirs such as the “Prisoners ' Choir ” from Nabucco or the “Pilgrims' Choir” from Tannhäuser as well as less well-known pieces such as the Starry Night by Hermann Schulken or the Spring Net by Karl Goldmark . Modern titles such as music by John Miles , spirituals such as When the Saints Go Marching In and songs by ABBA are also part of the ensemble's repertoire.
