Stefan Zingerle (born August 8, 1981 in Bruneck ) is a former Italian biathlete .

Stefan Zingerle lives and trained in Antholz . The soldier took off for C. S Esercito . He started biathlon in 1993 and has been a member of Italy's national squad since 2000. In 2001 he started in Khanty-Mansiysk at his first and only Junior World Championships, in which he was 29th in the sprint, 16th in the pursuit and eleventh with the relay. In the 2004 European Biathlon Cup , the Italian finished tenth in a sprint in Méribel for the first time in the top ten. Two years earlier he had just missed his first top 10 finish in Haute-Maurienne as eleventh in the sprint. This was followed by participation in the 2004 European Biathlon Championships in Minsk , where Zingerle was 42nd in sprint and pursuit and 44th in individual. In 2005 he was Italian sprint champion and at the end of the 2004/05 season he achieved his best result in the European Cup as third place in a sprint in Gurnigel behind Julien Ughetto and Gaël Poirée . In 2006 he took part in the European Championships in Langdorf for the second time . In the sprint he reached 13th place, was 36th in the pursuit and 37th in the individual. In the sprint race, Christian Hofer , Markus Windisch and Mattia Cola added eleventh place. Towards the end of the 2005/06 season , Zingerle made his debut in Pokljuka in the Biathlon World Cup . With two 47th places in the sprint and pursuit, he also achieved his best results in the top biathlon series in his first two races. A planned start at the side of Barbara Ertl , Windisch and Nathalie Santer-Bjørndalen at the Biathlon Mixed Relay World Championship 2006 did not materialize. The 2008 European biathlon championships in Nové Město na Moravě were the last major event for the Italian. In the individual, he finished 22nd, was 27th in the sprint and 36th in the pursuit. With Cola, Nicola Pozzi and Armin Kasslatter , Zingerle was tenth as the last runner of the season. In 2009 he won at the Italian championships in Forni Avoltri with the B team of his club C. S Esercito in front of the A team the title in the relay race. He ended his career after the 2009/10 season.
