Stefanie Schäfer

Stefanie Schäfer (born August 16, 1963 in Wetzlar ) is a German translator .

Life

Stefanie Schäfer studied Dutch , French and general linguistics at the Universities of Heidelberg and Cologne , from which she graduated with a master's degree. She has been working as a freelance translator since 1996 . She lives in Cologne .

Stefanie Schäfer translates narrative works and non-fiction books from Dutch , Afrikaans , English and French .

From 1997 to 1999 Schäfer was the holder of the Hieronymusring , a touring award that she passed on to Brigitte Große , by the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works, VdÜ .
