Stefanie "Steffi" Tücking (* 1. April 1962 in Kaiserslautern ; † 1. December 2018 in Baden-Baden ) was a German television - and radio presenter and editor .

Life

Youth and Studies

Stefanie Tücking grew up in Kaiserslautern and began studying electrical engineering there . The desire to become a journalist grew in her; she broke off her studies and moved from her place of birth to Baden-Baden.

She gained her first experience as a presenter for the TV station Musicbox . In January 1986 she took over the moderation of the ARD music television program Formula One from Ingolf Lück and became known to a larger audience. In 1987, the then 24-year-old received the Golden Camera for moderating Formula One . In a small series of Formula One revivals with Thomas Anders as moderator, she again appeared for a short time in front of the camera.

Stefanie Tücking was also seen in other television productions. Mostly she appeared in programs with a musical focus, but also with sports topics. In the early 1980s she acted as a student in the Monaco Franze series ; She also appeared in the crime series Tatort several times. In the 1990s, she hosted the daily WDR broadcast Here and Today . Up to the attitude of the program she hosted in SWR television , alternating with Thorsten link the program to go - the car magazine or was in posts therein, for example in car tests to see. From 1996 to 1998 she was editor and presenter for the morning show On .

From August 1998 she moderated the afternoon show on SWR3 , on weekdays between 12:00 and 14:00 SWR3 at noon and the music program Intensiv . She was also active in the SWR3 band with two colleagues.

At the beginning of October 2005 and 2006 she presented on ZDF at the New Pop Festival in Baden-Baden the presentation of the Pioneer Pop Awards donated by Mercedes-Benz and SWR3 to deserving artists, each followed by a stage appearance. Tücking has been firmly anchored in the program of the event since 1998.

In 1989 Tücking designed (or was marketed as a designer) two designs for the case of the Amiga 500 computer (a tiger and a ball design), which were sold as a limited edition Amiga 500 new art and advertised with Tücking's name. In 1990 she was co-pilot of racing driver Klaus Fritzinger on his last participation in the Monte Carlo Rally .

death

Stefanie Tücking died on the night of December 1, 2018 at the age of 56 in Baden-Baden from a pulmonary embolism . On December 13th, she was buried in the main cemetery in her native city of Kaiserslautern.
