Stefano Bedetti

Stefano Bedetti (born November 30, 1973 ) is an Italian jazz musician ( tenor and soprano saxophone , composition ).

Live and act

Bedetti began playing the saxophone as an autodidact after discovering jazz music. The drummer Giulio Capiozzo noticed his talent and brought him into the group Area . Since 1995 he played in the band Jestofunk ; He toured the world with her for ten years, performed at numerous festivals and was involved in three of the group's important records. In 2004 he became a member of Marco Tamburini's quintet (with Cameron Brown and Billy Hart in the rhythm section ).

In 2005 Bedetti founded his own quartet and in 2007 released his first album as a leader on the Italian independent label Philology , The Bright Side of the Moon , which was voted the best jazz record of the year in the Italian Jazz Awards . Since 2009 he has appeared in his trio with Ed Howard or Bill Hart or Victor Lewis . He has also worked with George Cables , Jimmy Owens , George Garzone , Dave Stryker , Billy Drummond , Tony Scott , Barry Altschul , Gianni Basso , Roberto Gatto , Antonio Faraò , Dado Moroni and Fabrizio Bosso . He can also be heard on albums by Simone Zanchini , Ratko Zjaca and Rossella Cappadone.
