The Steinbach is a flowing body of water between Obersteinbach in Bergisch Gladbach and Dürscheider Hütte in the municipality of Kürten .

The Steinbach rises in the Auf'm Siefenland corridor near the village of Obersteinbach at an altitude of 209  m above sea level. NHN and then flows through meadow areas past Untersteinbach and then flows into the Dürschbach in the Tönnesberg near Dürscheider Hütte at an altitude of 164  m . The Steinbach has no identifiable backwaters.

Catchment area

The 1.39 km² catchment area is located in the Bärbroicher Höhe natural area in the area of ​​the city of Bergisch Gladbach and the municipality of Kürten. It is drained to the North Sea via Dürschbach, Sülz , Agger , Sieg and Rhine .

In the floodplain of the brook, forest terrain dominates, otherwise agricultural areas predominate.

Named heights are the Tönnesberg ( 193  m ) and the Rottlandsberg ( 209  m ) on the right side of the run.

The Obersteinbach, Untersteinbach, Keller and Dürscheider Hütte residential areas are located in the north of the catchment area . Unterbörsch .

etymology

The brook is namesake of the two localities Ober- and Untersteinbach. The corridor Auf'm Steinufer is also to the left of the water .
