Steve Oedekerk

Steve Oedekerk (born November 27, 1961 in Los Angeles , USA ) is an American comedian , film director , film producer , screenwriter and actor .

Life

He worked for NBC , ABC , UPN, and FOX in the late 1980s and early 1990s . There he created many different TV specials. He met stand-up comedian and actor Jim Carrey while on the US television show In Living Color on FOX .

In 1994 he starred in the movie Ace Ventura and became the director of the sequel Ace Ventura a year later . He also played alongside Thomas F. Wilson, Denise Crosby, Fred Willard and Jim Carrey to star in A pain in the ass ( High Strung ). In 1996 he wrote the screenplay for The Crazy Professor and directed Nix zu Los . Two years later he was involved as a screenwriter on Patch Adams . In 2002 he produced, directed and led the role of Kung Pow: Enter the Fist . He also wrote the script.

In 2006 he directed the animated film The Animal Crazy Farm .

He has his own entertainment studio "O Entertainment", which he founded in 1990. He is friends with the film director Tom Shadyac . The two also cooperate occasionally, for example Oedekerk wrote the scripts for Shadyac's films Bruce Almighty (2003) and Evan Almighty (2007).

Oedekerk produced the Thumbs! -Trick film series in which various Hollywood films are satirized using "Thumbmation" - thumbs with overlaid face.

He was nominated for an Oscar in 2002 for his work on the film Jimmy Neutron - The Courageous Inventor . 2009 received an Emmy for the film Back at the Barnyard .
