Steven Jahn (born July 15, 1989 in Luckenwalde ) is a German soccer player , former journalist and entrepreneur .

Career

Steven Jahn was born and raised in Luckenwalde, south of Berlin . He started playing soccer at home FSV 63 Luckenwalde and from there in 2002 he moved to the youth department of 1. FC Union Berlin . There the young striker went through the youth teams up to the U19 , with whom he reached promotion to the U-19 Bundesliga in 2008 . He himself was the top scorer in the A-Youth Regionalliga North-East with 19 goals that season .

After moving to the senior division, he made his debut on the first match day of the third division season 2008/09 against the second team of Bayern Munich when he was substituted on in the final minutes. Due to many injuries, he only made five short appearances in the 3rd division and at the end of the season achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with Union . In the Berlin Cup , he was instrumental in winning the competition with three goals in six games. In the second division season 2009/2010 he was not used and also removed from the squad for the winter break. Instead, he was mainly used in the reserve team in the Berlin League , with which he was promoted to the Oberliga Nordost .

After the promotion, Jahn moved to TSG Neustrelitz , for which he only completed 15 games (one goal) in the 2010/11 Oberliga season due to a triple torn ligament in the ankle and a torn tendon in his finger. The following season he moved within the league to Brandenburger SC Süd 05 . After the first half of the season, in which he scored five goals in eleven games, the offensive player fell ill with the Epstein-Barr virus and had to end his career after months of illness.

In mid-2012, Jahn started working as a journalist for Berliner Kurier . First he completed a two-year traineeship at the daily tabloid newspaper, then he worked as an editor for the courier for another two years. On May 31, 2016, he finished his work as a journalist. Since then he has been training for a return to professional football. For this he joined TuS Sachsenhausen, among others. After more than four and a half years without a competitive appearance, Jahn played the last four games of the 2015/16 season for the Brandenburg division and scored one goal. In the subsequent 2016/17 season, Jahn played the first half of the season for TuS and played another 13 games.

On December 31, 2016, he finished his arrangement at Sachsenhausen. In January 2017 Jahn was without a club, but trained with Linfield FC in Belfast. A change to the Northern Irish record champions did not materialize for the time being. Shortly before the end of the winter transfer deadline, Jahn joined fourth division FSV 63 Luckenwalde. He signed a contract with his home club until the end of the 2016/17 regional league season.

For FSV 63, Jahn played eight regional league games (two assists) and one game in the Brandenburg Cup. At the end of April he injured himself while warming up before the league duel against the Berlin AK and tore three ligaments in his left ankle. Around four weeks later, Jahn was surprisingly part of the Luckenwalder squad again at the AOK state cup final against FC Energie in Cottbus. However, he lost the game with the FSV 0-2. But Jahn was not used because he again injured his left ankle severely when it was warming up. He also did not extend his expiring contract with the district townspeople. He has been without a club since July 1, and due to his ankle injury that had lasted for months, he again failed to move to Linfield FC in the summer of 2017.

For several months he worked again on a return. However, there has not yet been a comeback on the lawn. Instead, he signed with Berlin City Futsal, a futsal club from the German capital, in August 2018 . The club currently plays in the NOFV Futsal League , the top division in Germany. In his first first division game for Berlin City Futsal, Jahn scored four goals.
