The Streitmandl belongs to 2360 m above sea level. A. to the higher peaks in the Tennengebirge in the northern Limestone Alps .
location
The Streitmandl breaks off on all sides with craggy and rocky flanks; in the south is the striking Werfener Hochthron and in the west the bulging Raucheck rises , while in the north and east the mountain merges directly into the extensive karst plateau of the Tennengebirge.
Strictly speaking, there are three peaks following one another, which are almost the same height and are connected by an easily accessible rock ridge. On the Middle dispute Mandl is a summit cross and the small precious White cottage , the Front armed Mandl ⊙ forms the ridge Hiefler-Raucheck and high throne, the rear dispute Mandl ⊙ passes north to the dispute Mandlscharte ( 2323 m above sea level. A. ⊙ ).
Routes
Like most of the other mountains in the Tennengebirge, the Streitmandl is one of the easy-to-climb peaks that can be reached without climbing. Although quite secluded, the summit is often climbed, mostly when crossing a plateau or in connection with the Raucheck, but rarely as a separate mountain tour. From the highest point there is a comprehensive panorama. The Edelweißerhütte makes such an experience possible, but it is not managed. In winter, the Streitmandl is a worthwhile destination and a popular stopping point for ski tours .
The main routes are:
- From Wengerau , walking time: 4 hours, difference in altitude: 1,400 meters - a wonderful route that cannot be surpassed in terms of landscape begins in Wengerau near Werfenweng . The ascent leads over the Elmaualm first to the Werfener Hütte . This is followed by a difficult ascent over the ladder to the throne and the Throntal to the plateau. Then over the Schrofen and Karst terrain to the Edelweißerhütte on the Streitmandl. Marked throughout and secured in the Throntal (I according to UIAA ) with iron ladders and wire ropes.
- From Mahdegg , walking time: 3½ hours, difference in altitude: 1,200 meters - the shortest and classic route, which is largely steep and strenuous, begins at the Unterholzbauern just below the Mahdegg Alm . The ascent leads over the Eiskeller and the Fieberhornkar to the Grießscharte and on to the plateau. Then over the Schrofen and Karst terrain to the Edelweißerhütte on the Streitmandl. Marked throughout and secured with wire ropes at the difficult points (I according to UIAA ).
- From the Eisriesenwelt , walking time: 4½ hours, difference in altitude: 900 meters - the easiest path in terms of altitude difference, but the most demanding in terms of difficulty. From the Dr.-Friedrich-Oedl-Haus near the Eisriesenwelt it goes on the Hochkogelsteig (II to UIAA , but secured) to a hunting lodge on the plateau. Then continue to the right (do not descend to Leopold-Happisch-Haus ) and over a long ridge past the Lehnenden Stein, Raucheck and Hiefler, finally steeper to the Edelweißerhütte on the Streitmandl. Marked throughout and secured in difficult places.
