particularities

The lack of water at the location of this hut is problematic. The water often has to be carried up with difficulty. The hut keeper uses two llamas to transport loads. On the way from the Alpengasthof Mahdegg to the hut, water canisters with the inscription "Werfener Hütte" invite visitors passing by to take water in cans with them to the hut. Otherwise the Werfener Hütte can be supplied by helicopter, a landing site is located around 50 meters east of the hut.
