The Dr.-Heinrich-Hackel-Hütte is a hut of the Salzburg section of the ÖAV and is located at 1531  m on the southern slope of the Tennengebirge . It is managed during the opening times and is an important starting point for numerous climbing routes, round trips and crossings as well as for hikes on the high plateau of the Tennengebirge. Ski tours are possible in winter. The sun terrace offers a wide view of the Salzach valley ( Salzachpongau ) and the Hochkönig .

history

It was formerly called Söldenhütte , was the former alpine pasture of the Söldentalalm, acquired as a ruin in 1913 by the DuÖAV Salzburg section and restored. In 1923 the hut was badly damaged by an avalanche and named in honor of Heinrich Hackel , the pioneer of the Tennengebirge development and head of the Salzburg section until 1926.

In 1958 the Hackelhütte was expanded.
