Sułkowice ( German Sulkowice ) is a town with two Schulz offices of the municipality Andrychów in Wadowice County of Malopolska province in Poland .
geography
Sułkowice is located in the Silesian Foothills ( Pogórze Śląskie ) under the Little Beskids ( Beskid Mały ) on the Wieprzówka River.
The village is divided into two school departments: Sułkowice-Bolęcina and Sułkowice-Łęg . The functional center is in Łęg.
Neighboring towns are the city of Andrychów in the north, Zagórnik in the northeast, Rzyki in the southeast, and Targanice in the west.
history
The place arose in the 15th century on the ground of the village Wieprz and was first mentioned in 1563. It was originally called Sulichowice , probably after the locator Sulich or Sulik .
It belonged to many noble families: Gierałtowski, Secygniowski, Schilling, Przyłęcki, Szwarcenberg-Czerni, Ankwicz. During the first partition of Poland , Sułkowice became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire in 1772 (from 1804). From 1782 the village belonged to the Myslenice district (1819 with the seat in Wadowice ). Stanisław Ankwicz died in 1790 and the village was separated from Targanice . Sułkowice was inherited from Tadeusz Anwkicz. The next heirs were Bobrowski, Count Mikołaj Rey since 1895.
In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Sułkowice became part of Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . It then belonged to the district of Bielitz in the administrative district of Katowice in the province of Silesia (since 1941 province of Upper Silesia ).
From 1975 to 1998 Sułkowice was part of the Bielsko-Biała Voivodeship .
In 1989 the Roman Catholic parish was established in Bolęcin, then in 1996 in Łęg.
