Roczyny is located in the Silesian Foothills ( Pogórze Śląskie ) under the Little Beskids ( Beskid Mały ).

The village has an area of ​​838 hectares .

Neighboring towns are the city of Andrychów in the northeast, Targanice in the southeast, Brzezinka in the south, and Bulowice in the west.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1457 as Rocziny , when it was bought by Poland with the Duchy of Auschwitz .

During the first partition of Poland , Roczyny came to the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire in 1772 (from 1804).

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy , Roczyny came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . It then belonged to the district of Bielitz in the administrative district of Katowice in the province of Silesia (since 1941 province of Upper Silesia ).

From 1975 to 1998 Roczyny was part of the Bielsko-Biała Voivodeship .

In 1980 the Roman Catholic parish was established.
