Zagórnik is a village with a Schulzenamt of the municipality Andrychów in the powiat Wadowicki of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship , Poland .

Zagórnik lies under the Little Beskids ( Beskid Mały ).
Neighboring towns are the city of Andrychów in the north-west, Inwałd in the north, Kaczyna in the east, Rzyki in the south, and Sułkowice in the south-west.
history
The place originated in the 14th century. The first owner was Zacusius Ligęza , the nephew of Jakub Urdzen , who built the church in Inwałd in 1318. The name comes from the location of the village: za górą , behind the mountain .
Politically, the village originally belonged to the Duchy of Auschwitz , which existed from 1315 during the period of Polish particularism . Since 1327 consisted suzerainty of the Kingdom of Bohemia . Since 1445 it belonged to the Duchy of Zator , which was sold to Poland in 1494.
During the first partition of Poland in 1772, Zagórnik became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).
In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Zagórnik came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . It then belonged to the district of Bielitz in the administrative district of Katowice in the province of Silesia (since 1941 province of Upper Silesia ).
From 1975 to 1998 Zagórnik was part of the Bielsko-Biała Voivodeship .
The first brick chapel was built in 1811. In 1982 the Roman Catholic parish was established.
