The Suzuki GSR 600 is a street motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer Suzuki that has been on sale since the beginning of 2006 . The GSR has been equipped with ABS since model year 2007 . The GSR got a big brother in the form of the Suzuki B-King in the summer of 2007. In 2011 it was replaced by the GSR 750 .
Model history
Year of construction 2006 (model designation GSR600 K6)
In 2006 the Suzuki GSR 600 (factory designation: WVB9) is launched. The engine is originally from the GSX-R 600 K5 and has been modified for the GSR600. With 380 units sold, the GSR-600 occupies fourth place in the Austrian registration statistics for 2006 (+126 cm 3 ) and was therefore the best-selling naked bike this year. Year of construction 2007 (model designation GSR600AK7 or K7)
The GSR is expanded to include ABS and renamed GSR 600 / A.
Available colors: Matt Black (YKV), Silver (YD8), Blue (YBA), Red (YHL).
Year of construction 2008 (model designation GSR600AK8 or K8)
New features in the 2008 model year are the standard windshield, the modified rear-view mirrors and the black exhaust covers. Available colors: black (YAY), silver (YMD), blue (YBA), anthracite (YLF), orange (YME).
Year of construction 2009 (model designation GSR600AK9 or K9)
In the 2009 model year, the standard windshield, the modified rear-view mirrors and the black exhaust trims are the same. Available colors: black (YAY), silver (YMD), blue (YBA), anthracite (YLF).
Year of construction 2010 (model designation GSR600A AL0)
No new features in model year 2010. Available colors: black (YAY), silver (YMD), anthracite (YLF), white (YPA). With the color white, the rims were painted gold based on 25 years of Suzuki.
Known vulnerabilities
- There are increased load change reactions recorded
- The Velcro pads on the saddle bench often refuse to work
- The staples on the bench may rub against the paint on which the bench rests. These scuffed areas can rust.
- The guide of the clutch cable should be bent back a bit, otherwise it will squeak and also chafe.
- Some models, across the production years 2006 to probably also 2008, tend to occasionally go out when the clutch is disengaged. The Suzuki Germany agency has only been aware of this in this scope since September 2008 and a remedy is to be sought for mid-October. The sudden death of the engine when the clutch is disengaged is not without risk and deserves attention. For this purpose, a solution to the problem has now been found officially after public pressure from indignant vehicle owners. Further information can be found on the self-help page.
- The first Bridgestone BT014 tire is not the best decision, the BT014 slips without warning. Often there is a switch to Michelin Pilot Power.
