The GSR 750 is a naked bike from the Japanese manufacturer Suzuki , which appeared on the market in early 2011. It is the big sister of the GSR 600 and replaces it as a middle class naked bike. The engine comes from the GSX-R 750 (K5) and was throttled to a nominal output of 78 kW (106 hp) in order to increase the torque in the lower and middle speed range. An anti-lock braking system was optional in the 2011 model year and has been standard since 2012.
The GSR 750 was presented for the first time at the Intermot 2010 in Cologne.
construction
The liquid-cooled four - cylinder engine generates a nominal output of 78 kW (106 hp) and a maximum torque of 80 Nm at a speed of 9000 min −1 from a displacement of 749 cm³ . The four cylinders of the transversely installed in- line engine have a bore of Ø 72 mm, the pistons have a stroke of 46 mm with a compression ratio of 12.3: 1. In the cylinder head of the four-stroke engine , two chain-driven, overhead camshafts rotate , which control two intake and two exhaust valves per cylinder.
The motorcycle accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km / h. The average fuel consumption is 5.4 liters per 100 km.
Market situation
Motorcycles with comparable engine characteristics and chassis geometry are Aprilia SL 750 Shiver , BMW F 800 R , Ducati Monster 796 , Kawasaki Z750 , Triumph Street Triple , Yamaha FZ8 and Honda CB 600 F Hornet .
Reviews
“The new Suzuki GSR 750 with its quartet of pistons, on the other hand, combines relaxed cruising with ample power reserves. [...] The chassis gives a good feeling for the road, so that higher cornering speeds are not a problem. However, you shouldn't expect a lot of comfort, because the suspension is set up quite hard. "
“It's not a paragon of handiness, but neither is it super nervous. And therefore the bottom line is a very typical representative of the Japanese street fighter culture, which usually combines an aggressive appearance with relaxed driving characteristics. "
