Honda CB 600 F Hornet
The CB 600 F Hornet (engl. "Hornet") is a motorcycle category naked bike of the Japanese manufacturer Honda . The Hornet originally came onto the market in Japan as a 250 cc model. In 1998 the CB 600 F followed with the modified 599 cm³ engine of the CBR 600 F (PC25E) from 1995. The sale of the PC34 model started worldwide on March 6, 1998. While the Japanese model because of the 180 km / h legally applicable there Limit had to make do with 51 kW (69 PS), the export versions achieved 69 kW (94 PS). For the Japanese market only, the side covers were painted in the same color as the vehicle and the rear fairing bore "600F" lettering.
Model history
In 2000 the 16 "large and 130 mm wide front wheel was replaced with a more common 17" front wheel. In the same year, a Hornet-S was also launched, which differed in its half-shell cladding.
In 2002, production was relocated from Japan to Italy. In the first year (2002) in Italy, it was produced and sold technically almost unchanged under the new name PC 36 (although largely identical to PC 34). Identification mark is u. a. the changed decor with the Honda wing instead of the previous Hornet logo on the tank as well as different indicators and a differently shaped rear fender. When the new model came in 2003, the name was not changed, and the new model, technically and in terms of design, was also called the PC36. Therefore, owners of a 2002 PC 36 (old model) must be aware when purchasing replacement parts and accessories that in most cases they will need the parts from a PC34. A major change between PC34 and 36 concerns the electrical system, as it was switched from a mechanical speedometer to electronic instruments.
The model name was changed to Hornet 600 for the 2006 model year .
With the end of the model year 2012, the production / further development of the Honda Hornet was discontinued. The official successor has been the Honda CB 650 F since 2014 .
