Journalistic activities

Verlag Zeitwende

Henkler is the sole managing director of the small publishing house Zeitwende, based in Radeberg in Saxony , which was for a time one of the better-known publishers and book distributors of the New Right . Historian Jan Buschbom from the Violence Prevention Network assessed the publisher in a weblog: “The Zeitwende publishing house moves between esotericism, revanchism , right-wing extremism and dark-wave lifestyle, trying to [...] attract a broad readership between the new right and the youth To achieve subculture. ” Before 2001, the publishing house published the two now out of print brochures Adler and Rose as well as Reich Europa by Holocaust denier Bernhard Schaub , which contain negative remarks on human rights and a plea for a“ new Reich ”. According to Henkler's statement, however, the publisher has only published esoteric writings since 2003.

Hagal magazine

From 1998 to 2005, Henkler was co-editor of the quarterly magazine Hagal - die Allumfassende . The magazine took the place of the neo-pagan magazine Zeitwende published in Dresden from 1994 to 1996 . In terms of content, Hagal oriented himself, among other things, on ethnic-religious positions. Germanic mythology , a European “original belief ”, regional customs and German writing and fables played a central role in this magazine . Politically, in the opinion of the journalist and sociologist Rainer Fromm , the magazine was located between the national revolutionary wing of the New Right and right-wing extremism.

Until 2003, Henkler wrote in the magazine himself. For example, in January 2003 he published an article with the title Reichsjuwelen für eineommen SS-Staat (quote from Trimondi book), in which he was critical of the book Hitler - Buddha - Krishna , subtitled Eine, by Victor and Victoria Trimondi unholy alliance from the Third Reich to this day .

The name comes from the Hagal Hagalaz - Rune ago. From 1930 to 1934 there was a magazine of the Munich Edda Society , which was founded by Rudolf John Gorsleben and was also named after the Hagal rune. According to the German scholar Georg Schuppener , Henkler's Hagal magazine ties in with this tradition.

other activities

From April 2000, Sven Henkler took over the management of Synergon Germany , a section of the new right network Synergies Européennes , for some time . The German section organized regular conferences in the community college for environment and life protection Collegium Humanum eV in Vlotho , East Westphalia , which was banned on May 7, 2008. Sven Henkler was a member of the Collegium Humanum until 2003.

reception

The Zeitwende publishing house has been known to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Saxony since 1996. The Federal Ministry of the Interior reported briefly on Henkler's activities under the title Intellectualization efforts in right-wing extremism in its 2001 report on the protection of the constitution. The low level of success was pointed out, in particular due to the “insufficiently updated website” and the “slow publication of information sheets and magazines” .

The NPD newspaper German Voice praised the Hagal magazine in August 1999 as “a good means for our cultural struggle for the hearts and minds of the people” .
