Sven Kühbauch
Sven "Svenson" Kühbauch (born October 4, 1976 in Marburg ) is a German guitarist , composer and author .
Life
Private
Kühbauch has lived with his family on the island of Rügen since 2015 .
Study and Influence
Kühbauch studied at the Jazz and Rock School in Freiburg . His main instrument is the electric guitar, but Kühbauch also plays acoustic guitar and dobro on his publications . Kühbauch cites Michael Sagmeister , Greg Howe and Scott Henderson as major influences , with whom he also had private lessons.
Bands and solo project
Between 1993 and 2003 Kühbauch played guitar in several bands and formations, some of which he co-founded. Kühbauch also accompanied the band Samsas Traum as a guitarist on their European tour with Atrocity and Pain .
Kühbauch has had the solo project Svenson since 2007 , with which he is touring the world and giving concerts overseas (Uruguay / Montevideo, Santo Domingo / Dominican Republic) and Asia (Shanghai / China, Bangkok / Thailand, Seoul / Korea). He worked with Jennifer Batten , Jerry Donahue , Rhani Krija and Lulo Reinhardt , among others .
Teaching activity and teaching media
Kühbauch has been giving guitar lessons for individual students and groups since 1994. From this activity he developed teaching media and workshops, which should also give autodidacts access to playing techniques, according to "The interactive children's guitar book".
Kühbauch taught as a lecturer at the Music Academy Cologne and at the Music School Bonn, where he was co-leader of the Mixed Bag Boogie Band, with which he played at the 2010 Montreux Jazz Festival. He is currently teaching at the music school in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund.
Compositions
Half of the debut album "Svenson" already contained their own titles. His later albums then consist almost entirely of his own compositions. As a studio musician, Kühbauch played for various television and audio book productions, as well as on Sat.1 breakfast television .
