Sven Tumba (often also Sven "Tumba" Johansson ; born August 27, 1931 in Tumba as Sven Olof Gunnar Johansson ; † October 1, 2011 in Danderyd ) was a Swedish ice hockey , football and golf player .

Career

During his active time at Djurgårdens IF , he won eight Swedish championships in ice hockey and one in football . In 1959 he was champion in both sports at the same time. In addition, Johansson won three gold medals at ice hockey world championships .

In ice hockey, he scored 366 goals in 354 league games, and he also made 265 appearances in the Swedish national team . He was world champion in 1953, 1957 and 1962, twice he was runner-up in the world championship and four times third. At the Olympic Games in 1952 he won the bronze medal and in 1964 the silver medal. In 1997 he was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame .

After his professional career, Tumba also became a successful amateur golfer and golf course designer who designed many courses both in Sweden and internationally.
