Systematics of minerals according to Dana / oxides and hydroxides

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The oxides and hydroxides in the classification of minerals according to Dana include class III of this classification. According to the new Dana classification, the class consists of subclasses 4 (oxides), 5 (uranium and thorium-containing oxides), 6 (hydroxides and hydroxyl-containing oxides), 7 (multiple oxides), and 8 (multiple oxides with Nb, Ta and Ti).

The entries are structured according to the following pattern:

Dana
number
mineral Point group status

The "Status" column provides brief information about deviations from recognition as an independent mineral or other special features. Explanation of the abbreviations:

  • Group = Recognized as a name to denote a group of minerals
  • N = Published without approval by the IMA / CNMNC
  • R = Renamed or number changed
  • Q = questionable
