Szidónia Lázárné-Vajda (* 20th January 1979 as Szidónia Vajda in Odorheiu Secuiesc , Hungarian Székelyudvarhely ) is a szeklerische chess champion , the first for Romania , today Hungary plays.

Life

Vajda received the title of Women's Chess Grandmaster (WGM) in 1998 and the title of International Master (IM) in 2003 . She met the IM standards at two First Saturday tournaments in Budapest in June 1996 and February 2002 and at the 21st Zalakaros Open in May 2002.

Vajda won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 2nd place at a women's tournament in Baile Herculane (1994), 1st place at the U16 European Championship (girls) (1995), 1st place at the FS02 women's tournament in Budapest (1995 ), 2nd place at the FS06 tournament in Budapest (1996), 2nd place at a women's tournament in Bucharest (1997), 2nd place at a women's tournament in Rijeka (2001), 2nd place at the Mediterranean Flower women's tournament ( 2003), 1st place at the Hungarian Championship (women) (2004) and 1st place at the Ede Teller Memorial (women) in Paks (2009).

With her best Elo rating of 2418 in January 2008, Vajda was ranked 47th in the FIDE world women's rankings and third in the Hungarian women's rankings. Szidónia Lázárné-Vajda is the sister of Albert Vajda (* 1976), who is also an international master, and Levente Vajda (* 1981), a grand master .

National team

Vajda participated with Hungary in the women's chess Olympiads in 2002 , 2004 , 2006 , 2008 and 2010 , she achieved the best result on the second board in 2004. She played with Romania at the European Women's Team Championships in 1999, with Hungary in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2015. She reached second place with the team in 2003 and third place in 1999; In 2003, she also achieved the third-best individual result on the third board. For Hungary she also played at the 2007 Mitropa Cup for women, where she won both with the team and in the individual competition on the first board.
