The place was first mentioned as Tluczan in 1353 , when the owner and alleged founder of the village, Dziersław (Dzierżko) from Stogniowice, received permission to build a parish church. Most of the village had a common history with Chrząstowice and Kossowa .

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the village was divided into Tłuczań Dolna and Tłuczań Górna.

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Tłuczań became part of Poland again. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II .
