Taboão da Serra , officially Portuguese Município de Taboão da Serra , is a city in the metropolitan region of São Paulo in the Brazilian state of São Paulo . It is located 18 km southwest of the capital São Paulo . In 2010, 244,528 people lived in Taboão da Serra on an area of around 20.4 km², who are called Taboese. The Brazilian statistical institute IBGE estimated the population on July 1, 2019 at 289,664.
