The valley Teutschenthal is a motocross - racing circuit in Teutschenthal near Halle (Saale) , and is operated by the Motorsport Club Teutschenthal .
The currently 1565 meter long motocross circuit was laid out in October 1966, about 25 kilometers west of Halle (Saale) in an old gravel and brown coal mine. The first races were organized by the operators of the Halle-Saale loop at the end of the 1960s . This was later taken over by the Teutschenthal Motorsport Club, founded in 1967 . Over the years, the GDR Motocross Championships and currently the "Grand Prix of Germany" for the Motocross World Championship have been held annually .
The track became internationally known in 1971 at the first and, for the time being, last international Motocross World Championship run in Teutschenthal. After starters from "non-socialist countries" were no longer allowed to start, competitions such as the Cup for Peace and Friendship or the Cup of Potash Buddy with participants from the former Eastern Bloc countries were created.
In the mid-1980s, an average of 30,000 spectators attended the races in the basin.
From 1989, drivers from "non-socialist countries" were allowed to start in Teutschenthal again. The international race in 1989 with participants from 13 nations was attended by 33,000 spectators. In 1991 there was a run for the European Championship and in 1993 the second Motocross World Championship took place in Teutschenthal. Since 1996 the Motocross World Championships and since 2013 the Motocross of Nations have also been held in the valley. Furthermore, the Saxony-Anhalt state motocross championships take place on the route and the Teutschenthal valley basin has been the base of the ADAC MX Academy youth project since 2013 .
