The Bautzen motorway ring was a temporary race track near Bautzen from 1955 to 1974 . The route length was 2.920 km. The Bautzen-West junction of Autobahn 4 and the F 96 between the two exits served as the racing track . On race days, the motorway traffic was diverted from the motorway to the Kamenz-Bautzen road at a makeshift exit near Prischwitz . Due to the destruction of the motorway bridge over the Spree in April 1945, the motorway east of the junction could no longer be used by traffic anyway.

International car and motorcycle races with and without sidecars took place on the racetrack. Classes included Formula Junior (later Formula 3 ) for racing cars, A, B, C for motorcycles and various cubic capacity classes for sidecar motorcycles (also known as sidecar or three-wheeled vehicles).
