Tammy - Voll Abfahren (Original title: Tammy ) is an American comedy film from 2014 by director Ben Falcone , which was released in German cinemas on July 3, 2014.
action
In a single day, Tammy loses her job at a fast food restaurant and her husband cheating on her. She just wants to leave - but her car is broken.
The only way out is her grandmother Pearl, who lends her car on the condition that she can come along and determine the destination. Since she has the necessary change, Tammy agrees and the two set off for Niagara Falls . During the road trip it becomes clear that Pearl has a massive drinking problem and that the relationship between her and her granddaughter has been broken through various incidents.
When Tammy and her grandmother are arrested for Pearl's excessive drinking and Pearl can only pay the bail for Tammy, she decides to raid a fast food restaurant in order to be able to free her not entirely healthy grandmother from custody. After she was able to put that into practice, both are considered fleeting. The two decide to pay a visit to Pearl's cousin Lenore and her partner Susanne. There they attend a July 4th party hosted by women that sees Grandmother addicted to alcohol again and hurt Tammy's feelings. The next day, Tammy is arrested by the police for the attack and goes to jail.
The film ends 38 days later when Tammy is free again. After meeting her father, she frees her grandmother from an old people's home. With her, Lenore, Susanne and Bobby, whom she met during the road trip, she visits Niagara Falls.

Reviews
“The Rambo radicalism Melissa McCarthy plays with Tammy has already been seen in ' Brautalarm ' or ' The Heat ', something like that. But if you ask yourself whether a film with such a female lead is necessary, you only have to read the first comments on the Internet about the trailer, which, for example, poison where such a hippopotamus is allowed to go to drama school at all. And then you know: As long as there are still such reactions, Melissa McCarthy should still make hundreds of such films. "
“Last year there was a great, funny police comedy with Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock called 'Taffe Mädels', in which McCarthy shone as an extremely chubby super cop. 'Tammy' only tried the 'chubby' and failed enormously. Even Susan Sarandon won't help. "
