Thuringian-Franconian Slate Road

The Thuringian-Franconian Slate Road is a tourist themed road and connects places in three nature parks that are important for slate mining and slate processing . In the Franconian Forest , Thuringian Forest and Thuringian Slate Mountains / Obere Saale nature parks are the Thuringian-Franconian Slate Mountains , a range of mountains which, by its name, indicates its geological origin.

The approx. 96 km long slate road runs through Thuringia and Franconia from Steinach via Spechtsbrunn, Ebersdorf near Coburg , Ludwigsstadt , Probstzella , Marktgölitz , Oberloquitz , Reichenbach , Schaderthal , Unterloquitz , Hockeroda , Leutenberg , Grünau , Lehesten , Lichtentanner Mühle , roof slate pit Bärenstein , Schmiedebach , Technical Monument Historical Slate Construction / Slate Park Lehesten , Röttersdorf , Oßla , Wurzbach , Grumbach , Rodacherbrunn and Markt Nordhalben to Geroldsgrün .
