The Glitch Mob is a three- piece electronic music group from Los Angeles , consisting of Ed Ma (edIT), Justin Boreta (Boreta) and Josh Mayer (Ooah). The name The Glitch Mob refers to the music genre Glitch , which is based on digital noise, random sound events or programmed algorithms.
history
The original group of four, including Kraddy, were formed in 2006 within the nascent "Los Angeles bass-driven" "beat" scene that also spawned Daedelus, Flying Lotus and Nosaj Thing. They won many fans through their very specific performance during their solos, with which they got fan growth especially in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Due to their success, they continued touring along the west coast, and a little later they made appearances at major festivals around the world. Co-founder Kraddy left the band in 2009 due to differences of opinion over creativity.
The debut album Drink The Sea reached number 5 on the iTunes Electronic Charts and # 57 on the CMJ Top 200 charts for college radios. The magazine "Electronic Musician" published a cover story of the successful trio.
Her second album, Love Death Immortality , was released on February 7, 2014 and hit number 1 on the American dance / electronic charts with 22,000 sales.
