Al Hart was the agent of Buddy Green, a comedian with a great history of success who suddenly withdrew from the scenes for fifty years for no reason just before going on the Ed Sullivan Show, 20-year-old Buddy was a podiatrist in Beverly Hills before ending up in a Florida nursing home. After meeting by chance in Florida, the two think back to the old days until Al Hart convinces Buddy Green to leave the retirement home to go a little by chance on a tour of the USA, where they are named. So the two older friends take to the streets and Buddy begins to perform in small provincial clubs, where he first collects a lukewarm success, which is then appreciated. Several dates are added to the tour. During a phase of the impromptu tour, Al meets a very interesting woman in Texas, Doris Montgomery Andie MacDowell, who joins the two old men’s journey and brings some friction between the two, but that builds a solid friendship that allows Buddy to get around To be able to bring “one last laugh” to life, but also to think optimistically about one's life and the future.
