the TurningOns are a German Britpop band from Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz .
history
Dominik Teubert (* 1986) and Daniel Mederer (* 1989) had the founding idea in summer 2006 at the Neumarkter Jura-Volksfest . Mederer was able to win his Hot Fudge Music bandmate, bassist Tobias Hilbert (* 1990), Teubert the Gauwailers drummer and Group66 bandmate Wolfgang "Wolfi" Lang.
The aim was to appear in this formation with their own compositions. In October 2006 the first eleven demo songs were recorded. The band made their stage debut on January 12, 2007 in the New Berlin Club in Neumarkt in front of 500 spectators. On February 9, 2007, the title Life Changes was presented in Bayern 3's NewcomerShow . This was initially followed by regional concerts and radio appearances as well as band competitions in the Neumarkt and Regensburg districts , and soon also nationwide. The band's musical influences on BackstagePro include Arctic Monkeys , The Beatles , Coldplay , The Kooks , The Police , Razorlight , The Rolling Stones and The Strokes . In 2011 Leon Kopp (* 1993) took over the role of drummer. He is the son of Buddy & the Huddle guitarist Roland Kopp. In 2012, pianist Manuel Wagner from Crosscover joined the group as the fifth man.
The debut album, which was officially released in 2013, was consistently recorded using analogue equipment from the 1960s. Joachim "Joe" Brookes reviewed in Rocktimes: "" Spinning Around "is sympathetic, a record with ups and downs, a musical output that will be a solid basis for further projects by the Upper Palatinate and leaves an all-round acceptable impression."
Others
Dominik Teubert and Daniel Mederer also play with the Britpop band Atomic , among others . Teubert was the Neumarkt youth champion (U20) in chess in 2000 and 2001 , Mederer also plays theater .
