Thenay is a town and commune Déléguée in the French commune of Le Controis-en-Sologne with 881 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loir-et-Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire . The inhabitants are called Thénaysiens .

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Thenay merged with Ouchamps , Fougères-sur-Bièvre , Feings and Contres to form the Commune nouvelle Le Controis-en-Sologne. It belonged to the Arrondissement Romorantin-Lanthenay (until 2017: Arrondissement Blois ) and the Canton of Montrichard (until 2015: Canton Saint-Aignan )

geography

Thenay is about 20 kilometers south-southwest of Blois and about 43 kilometers east of Tours . The community Thenay was surrounded by the neighboring communities Sambin in the north and northwest, Fougères-sur-Bièvre in the north and northeast, Feings in the northeast, Contres in the east, Choussy in the southeast, Monthou-sur-Cher in the south and Pontlevoy in the west.
