Le Controis-en-Sologne is a French commune with 6,866 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loir-et-Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the canton of Montrichard and the Arrondissement Romorantin-Lanthenay . It is the capital of the communal association Communauté de communes Val de Cher-Controis .

It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 by merging the previous municipalities of Contres , Feings , Fougères-sur-Bièvre , Ouchamps and Thenay , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative seat is in Contres.

The municipality is located around 20 kilometers south of Blois in the Sologne countryside . It is crossed by the Bièvre river, which finally flows into the Beuvron , which also touches the northern municipal boundary. Neighboring municipalities are Seur and Chitenay in the north, Cormeray in the northeast, Fresnes , Cheverny and Fontaines-en-Sologne in the east, Soings-en-Sologne in the southeast, Sassay , Oisly and Choussy in the south, Monthou-sur-Cher and Pontlevoy in the southwest and Sambin and Monthou-sur-Bièvre in the west and Les Montils in the northwest.
