Vernou-en-Sologne is located about 28 kilometers east-southeast of Blois and about 49 kilometers south-southwest of Orléans in the Sologne . Vernou-en-Sologne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montrieux-en-Sologne in the north, Neung-sur-Beuvron in the east and north-east, Millançay in the south-east, Veilleins in the south, Courmemin in the west and south-west and Bauzy in the north-west.
