Saint-Romain-sur-Cher is located about 29 kilometers south of Blois on the Rennes River , a tributary of the Cher that borders the municipality in the southwest. Saint-Romain-sur-Cher is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Couddes in the north, Méhers in the east, Châtillon-sur-Cher in the southeast, Noyers-sur-Cher in the south, Mareuil-sur-Cher in the southwest, Thésée in the west and Choussy in the Northwest.
