Langon-sur-Cher is a French commune with a population of 812 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Loir-et-Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement Romorantin-Lanthenay and the canton Selles-sur-Cher (until 2015: canton Mennetou-sur-Cher ).
The municipality, originally named Langon , changed its name to the current name Langon-sur-Cher by decree N ° 2017-1744 of December 22, 2017 .
geography
The community is located about 19 kilometers west-northwest of Vierzon on the Canal du Berry . The Cher River limits the municipality to the south. Neighboring municipalities are Villeherviers in the north, Selles-Saint-Denis in the northeast, Châtres-sur-Cher and Mennetou-sur-Cher in the east, Saint-Loup in the south, Saint-Julien-sur-Cher in the southwest and Villefranche-sur-Cher in the West.
The A85 autoroute and the former Route nationale 76 run through the municipality .
