Nouan-le-Fuzelier is a French commune with 2,326 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loir-et-Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement Romorantin-Lanthenay and is part of the canton of La Sologne (until 2015: canton of Lamotte-Beuvron ). The inhabitants are called Nouanais .
geography
Nouan-le-Fuzelier is located about 42 kilometers south-southeast of Orléans and about 53 kilometers east of Blois in the Sologne countryside . The Beuvron River limits the municipality in the northeast. Nouan-le-Fuzelier is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lamotte-Beuvron in the north, Chaon in the northeast, Brinon-sur-Sauldre in the east, Pierrefitte-sur-Sauldre in the southeast, Salbris in the south, Marcilly-en-Gault in the southwest, Saint- Viâtre in the west and Chaumont-sur-Tharonne in the north-west.
The A71 autoroute and the former Route nationale 20 (today's D2020) run through the municipality .
