geography
Chémery is located about 29 kilometers south-southeast of Blois on the border of the Touraine and Sologne landscapes . The place is on the Rennes river , a tributary of the Cher . Chémery is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sassay in the north, Soings-en-Sologne in the north and northeast, Rougeou in the east, Billy in the southeast, Châtillon-sur-Cher in the south, Méhers in the southwest and Couddes in the west.
The A85 car route runs along the southern edge of the municipality .
