Saint-Viâtre is about 55 kilometers northwest of Bourges . Saint-Viâtre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chaumont-sur-Tharonne in the north, Nouan-le-Fuzelier in the east, Salbris in the south-east, La Ferté-Imbault in the south, Marcilly-en-Gault in the south-west as well as Neung-sur-Beuvron and La Ferté-Beauharnais in the northwest.
