Brinon-sur-Sauldre is a French municipality with 982 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Vierzon and the canton Aubigny-sur-Nère (until 2015: canton Argent-sur-Sauldre ). The inhabitants are called Brinonnais .

Brinon-sur-Sauldre is located about 46 kilometers south-southeast of Orléans in the Sologne on the Sauldre and the Canal de la Sauldre . Brinon-sur-Sauldre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chaon in the north and north-west, Isdes in the north, Cerdon in the north-east, Clémont in the east, Sainte-Montaine in the south and south-east, Souesmes in the south and south-west and Pierrefitte-sur-Sauldre in the west.
