Saint-Georges-sur-la-Prée is a French municipality with 611 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement Vierzon and the canton Vierzon-2 (until 2015: canton Graçay ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Georgeois .

Saint-Georges-sur-la-Prée is located about 34 kilometers west-northwest of Bourges . The Cher crosses the northern part of the municipality. Saint-Georges-sur-la-Prée is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Thénioux in the north, Méry-sur-Cher in the northeast, Saint-Hilaire-de-Court in the east and southeast, Massay in the south and southeast, Dampierre-en-Graçay in the South, Genouilly in the southwest and Maray in the west and northwest.
