Neuvy-sur-Barangeon is about 18 kilometers west-northwest of Bourges . Neuvy-sur-Barangeon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Presly in the north and north-east, Méry-ès-Bois in the east, Allogny in the south and south-east, Vouzeron in the south and south-west and Nançay in the west and north-west.
history
The village is historically the former Noviodunum Biturigum . 52 BC, Caesar first besieged the oppidum of the Gallic tribe of the Biturgs. When he was about to take the oppidum, Vercingetorix wanted to launch a horror attack. However, Caesar was able to repel it and then eventually took the oppidum after all.
