Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Montrichard included the 13 communes of Angé , Bourré , Chaumont-sur-Loire , Chissay-en-Touraine , Faverolles-sur-Cher , Monthou-sur-Cher , Montrichard , Pontlevoy and Rilly -sur-Loire , Saint-Georges-sur-Cher , Saint-Julien-de-Chédon , Thenay and Vallières-les-Grandes . Its layout corresponded to an area of 273.01 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 4113.
