The inhabitants are called Montholiens .

Monthou-sur-Bièvre is located about twelve kilometers south-southwest of Blois am Bièvre in the Sologne . Monthou-sur-Bièvre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Valaire in the north, Les Montils in the north and northeast, Le Controis-en-Sologne with Ouchamps in the east, Sambin in the south, Pontlevoy in the southwest and Chaumont-sur-Loire in the west.
