Mont-près-Chambord is a French municipality with 3297 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loir-et-Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire . It is part of the Communauté de communes du Grand Chambord , the Arrondissement Blois and the Canton Chambord .
geography
Mont-près-Chambord is about eleven kilometers southeast of Blois . The Beuvron river limits the municipality to the south. Mont-près-Chambord is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Huisseau-sur-Cosson in the north, Tour-en-Sologne in the east and south-east, Cour-Cheverny in the south, Cellettes in the west and south-west and Vineuil in the west and north-west.
history
As late as the 13th century, the place was called Montes Bonomies , which soon turned into Monts and temporarily into Saint-Martin-de-Mont . The municipality got its current name in 1918
